Research associate

Dr Rosanna Fennessy is a research associate in the Palliative and End of Life Care research group (PELiCam) based in the Primary Care Unit. She is working on studies related to anticipatory prescribing at the end of life, mapping patient journeys related to injectable medications, and communicating uncertainty in multimorbidity in older adults. She adopts predominantly interpretive methodologies and is particularly interested in patient experience in healthcare systems. She has a background in health psychology and completed her mixed methods PhD with the Faculty of Education, University of Cambridge. Her thesis explored the ways young people with long term physical health conditions perceive support from external networks such as education staff and healthcare professionals. Rosanna has also been a counsellor in secondary schools and a teacher of psychology and sociology.

Rosanna is a graduate member of the British Psychological Society. She is also a lived experience patient advocate for the safe and effective use of patient data for a number of health data projects. She sits on the steering and oversight committee of the NIHR BioResource.
