Senior Research Associate

Joy Goodman-Deane is a Senior Research Associate in the Inclusive Design group at the Engineering Design Centre (in the Department of Engineering, University of Cambridge). Her research looks at how to enable companies to design more inclusive products, i.e. products that are suitable for a wider range of people, including those who are older, have disabilities or are digitally excluded.

Her interests focus on understanding the impact of disability and capability loss on the use of products and services, and on developing tools and methods to help support designers in conducting inclusive design. She is particularly interested in using survey data about people's capabilities and characteristics to support inclusive design.
