Dr Elka Humphrys is a Research Associate working on the OPTiMISE trial, exploring the safety of reducing antihypertensive medication in older patients with controlled blood pressure.
Elka completed her PhD in the Primary Care Unit at the University of Cambridge, exploring the timely diagnosis of oesophageal and gastric cancer. Prior to this, Elka managed a quality improvement programme for the European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery, and held research positions at University College London and the University of Cambridge, working on randomised controlled trials for cancer diagnosis and treatment.
