Exploring the promise and challenges of AI and data science for public health
What we do
We are developing a new priority area focused on the role of artificial intelligence and data science in public health. While AI and data tools are increasingly used across many sectors, we are particularly interested in what they mean for public health practice, policy, and ethics.
We are keen to engage with anyone interested in this area — please contact us to find out more.
Tomorrow’s Health Today: AI and Data Science explained
In April 2025, Cambridge Public Health co-hosted Tomorrow’s Health Today: AI and Data Science Explained with the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA). The interactive panel discussion, held as part of the Cambridge Festival, explored the real-world applications and limitations of artificial intelligence (AI) in health and care.
Patient and public involvement and engagement
We recognise the importance of involving patients and the public in shaping research priorities. By listening to diverse perspectives, we can ensure that healthcare systems, technologies, and innovations are trustworthy, equitable, and inclusive.
