Empowering Early Career Researchers to communicate research through the media.


On 20th June, Sarah Collins gave an informative and enlightening talk to members of the Cambridge Public Health Early Career Researcher Network on the art of communicating research through the media.

The webinar aimed to equip early career researchers with the tools and techniques necessary to engage with the media and effectively convey their research to a broad audience.

In the webinar, Sarah shared her experiences of working in University of Cambridge central communications team, and offered practical advice on various aspects of media communication including writing press releases, giving interviews, and providing expert comment.

She stressed need for clarity, simplicity, and storytelling techniques to quickly grab audiences’ attention.
