Cambridge Public Health

A recent blog by Professor Mike Kelly, lead of Cambridge Public Health's Health Inequalities theme, and Emeritus Professor Peter Littlejohns, calls for revitalizing NICE's public health role and fully implementing its guidelines.

Published by NIHR ARC South London, the blog emphasizes the importance of these guidelines on public health topics ranging from obesity to air pollution and mental health, and discusses how they can be quickly and effectively put into practice.

Professor Kelly stresses, “NICE public health guidelines consist of recommendations which are comprehensive, evidence-based, and cost-effective about disease prevention. Ministers should act now to ensure these guidelines are fully and properly implemented.”
